WOW Supports Haywood County's Special Olympics

The Women of Waynesville were honored to sponsor and show our WOWer Power at Haywood County's Special Olympics this past April 30th and May 1st at the Waynesville Rec Center.

In addition to our $500 sponsorship to the event, WOW ladies manned a table Thursday night for the Olympic Village event - Lots of dancing and laughter was had by all that night! 

On Friday we showed up in our bright green volunteer shirts to cheer on the athletes during their opening ceremony parade & at each event throughout the morning. WOW ladies really put their WOWer Power to the test when asked to assist in getting out approximately 500 ChickFilA lunches to the students, faculty and staff. 

This was our inaugural year sponsoring and assisting with Haywood Special Olympics. We learned a lot - mostly how important this event is to the athletes and our community. We look forward to the 2027 event!
