Yes, it’s that time of year again...the WOW annual calendar for 2024 is available for sale!
This is the 12th year for our annual calendar, with all the proceeds supporting the needs of women and children in Haywood County. The theme for our 2024 calendar is Silver Screen Edition, in recognition of “Calendar Girls”, the movie that was our inspiration to start the calendar. We decided to pay tribute to some of our favorite films and, as always, WOW members are the stars of the show…in such iconic films as Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Forrest Gump, The Graduate, Pulp Fiction and The Wizard of Oz!
Calendars are available for pre-sale now. Calendars are $25 each ($2.50 for shipping, if needed). The first opportunity to buy a calendar in person is at the Apple Harvest Festival in Waynesville on Saturday, October 21st. (WOW booth #114) The festival runs from 10:00am - 5:00pm on N. Main Street.
As WOW is an all-volunteer organization, all funds we raise go directly into our local community. In 2023, these funds have allowed us to, among other things,
Sponsor a candidate for Queen of the Mardi Gras Ball who raised over $18,000 for the Haywood County School Foundation
Award the Lynda Chovan Memorial Scholarship (named in honor of a WOW member) to two deserving high school seniors
Sponsor Haywood County Habitat for Humanity Women Build
Participate in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl for Kids’ Sake
Sponsor “Bowdy’s Winter Wonderland”, an event being held in December which will provide free holiday gifts, food and clothing to children and teenagers in the community
The sale of our annual calendar is our biggest fundraiser every year and we greatly appreciate the support of all who purchase one – either for themselves or a gift!
